The Desert Dust quarterly newsletter includes interesting articles about the history of Carlin and photographs. Past topics include the history of the Carlin Jail and Carlin’s Christmas Traditions.
We are a non-profit organization and most of our money comes from fundraisers that we hold. We are also very lucky to have some good people who help us financially to keep doing what we do but we have to constantly work towards financial sustainability for the long haul.
To that end, in 2025 the Board of Directors of the Carlin Historical Society made the decision to limit the availability of our newsletter, Desert Dust, to our annual and lifetime members. What does this mean? We will no longer be uploading the Desert Dust Newsletter to this page nor will we be posting the first page on our Facebook page. We do hope you will consider purchasing a membership so you can continue to receive the newsletter. You can purchase one here on our website or by visiting the Carlin Museum during our regular hours.
