The work to save the Old Church on Main began long before visible restoration could begin.
Historic preservation requires research, careful planning, professional evaluation, and an understanding of both a building’s history and its physical condition.
Over the past several years, the City of Carlin, the Carlin Historical Society, architects, engineers, preservation professionals, and project partners have worked to understand the Old Church on Main and develop a responsible path toward its restoration and future use as the Carlin Heritage and Performing Arts Center.
We believe the community should be able to see the work that has brought the project to this point. The documents below provide a closer look at the planning, assessment, and preservation work completed so far.
What you can’t always see from the outside matters.
